Questions, answered

“Everything you might want to know before you join — and a few things after.”

Everything you might want to know about membership and The Sunday Letter, answered as plainly as I can.

What’s the difference between a free and a paid membership?

Free members can read every public post and get The Sunday Letter in their inbox every week. Paid members also get the members-only essays and films, and their support is what keeps the blog and the letter going.

How much does a paid membership cost?

Current prices, for both monthly and yearly plans, are always on the membership page. I keep them as low as I sensibly can.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You can cancel from your account page in a couple of clicks, and you’ll keep paid access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. No awkward emails needed.

Can I give a membership as a gift?

You can. Get in touch through the contact page with the recipient’s name and email, and I’ll set it up and send them a short note from me.

How are payments handled, and will I get a receipt?

Payments are processed securely by Stripe, so I never see your card details. Stripe emails you a receipt every time you’re charged, and you can find past invoices from your account page.

How do I change my email address or newsletter preferences?

Sign in and open your account page, where you can update your email and choose which emails you receive. There’s also a link at the bottom of every Sunday Letter.

How often do you publish?

There’s a new post most weeks, and The Sunday Letter arrives every Sunday morning: one story, one recipe and one thing worth reading.

How can I get in touch?

Use the contact page or simply reply to any Sunday Letter. I read everything myself and reply within a week.
